Misc Stuff

When I first started personal training back in March; my trainer had me do these step up's on to the weight bench from the floor. I realize that I can be melodramatic sometimes, but I literally thought they might have to call 911. The other people in the room thought that too, if I could have taken a picture of the poor older woman's face as she watched me struggle with that! After about three steps up and down off that thing, I was breathing hard, wheezing, my face bright red, sweat pouring off me...it was not a pretty sight. She called it off after a minute or so and never asked me to do that again...until last week.

She was worried that I would be afraid to try it again but I felt strong and excited to give it a shot. I started stepping up and she carefully watched to make sure my knee stayed back and that I was aligned correctly and I just sailed through it! Don't get me wrong I was tired and out of breath but I did it!

So today - I am warming up and see her building some kind of tall structure using different size steps, my eyes got big and she said 'yep' this is taller than the bench, that was too easy for you. I give her my 'ok I'll try but it ain't gonna work' look and start hoisting my 33% fat body up there. Lo and behold I was able to do two sets of 20 on each side!

For the first time in my life; I don't immediately see something hard and think oh that is impossible I can't do that. Now I think, well that looks hard but I won't know if I can do it until I try.

Food was good today, stuck to my eating plan and at about 5:30PM I have eaten about 800 calories and have a 300 dinned in the oven. Plus I burned appx 450 calories this morning from my jog and then circuit training :-)

I am down another 2.5 Lbs this morning from last Wednesday. The weather is gorgeous today, my husband has been pretty sweet, my dog is curled up on the couch in his 'superman' pose and life is pretty good. I bought bagels - I am going to try Allan's hollowed out bagel with egg!

Love the shift in attitude! I've had that recently too and it feels good doesn't it?

Hollowed out bagel with egg? Sounds interesting.

Wow, that is awesome! Your story about your training session sounds so familiar. One big hurdle I had to get over was me feeling embarrassed sweating like a cow when I first started... Persistence pays!!!

This is so cool- because it sounds familiar! I have only joined the gym 6 weeks ago, but i am very pleased with my progress. My trainer took me through those bench steps too a few weeks back, and i know i am getting stronger each time!

Someday i will be as fit as you!

Well done on another successful day!
